I am a mobile tutor with a regularly updated DBS who offers lessons in and around the Brighton and Hove area at student homes. If you don’t have an instrument yet don’t worry I can provide one for you during our lessons. My lessons are available to all ages from beginner to advanced.
Brighton and Hove Drum and Bass Guitar Tutor
I like to make teaching fun and engaging by utilising specific songs to teach certain techniques or necessary basics such as scales or rudiments. I find that this leads to my students understanding how to use the techniques easier as they have a musical context of where they do and don’t work in a genre or individual piece of music. It also helps to make lessons more enjoyable and give a good start to a student’s repertoire of songs.
Making use of popular songs also allows me to connect with my students better through their favourite musicians and share my passion for music through my own influences.
I also make use of grades such as Rockschool, Trinity Guildhall and ABRSM when I feel a student is ready. This allows a more structured idea of the level a student is working at and a guided way to improve. I have experience working through the RSL grades myself having earned a Grade 8 in Drums.
